When no one trusts your vibe about someone else but later it turns out you’re right
My dad is… conservative. He has a tendency to make stereotype-typed jokes about people especially gays.
He usually won’t watch anything with a gay character unless it’s comedic and also falls under the stereotypes.
Well I was playing some Glee in the car and I mentioned that Gwenyth Paltrow was the one singing in “Kiss” and my dad was intrigued. He said when I get to the apartment that we should watch those eps (he’s a fan of her).
So we watch the three episodes she was in… I was half holding my breath during “Sexy” but my dad wasn’t making fun of any of the parts with Kurt/Blaine or getting weirded out by Santana/Brittany.
After they were done, I decided to test him and see how he’d react to Kurt and Blaine’s kiss in “Original Song”.
What I found hilarious is not only did he NEVER make a rude comment or face at that scene, but during Blackbird when Blaine suddenly has his “oh” moment, my dad went “He FINALLY figured it out!”
We watched “Born This Way” after that and he actually “aww’d” during Somewhere Only We Know. He also asked me about what Chris himself is like and I was telling him about the fact that he never wears clothes like that ever and he’s a huge nerd and about his accomplishments and so on… and I told him about Chris’ reaction to the Prom script.
My dad then says “We should watch the prom episode. That sounds like a good one.”
I was waiting for the inevitable laughter that Kurt had been crowned queen (like my mom had done) but my dad GASPED. He literally gasped in shock and was like “Oh man…”
…so yeah. I think my dad might be making progress. I’m gonna play some other eps tomorrow when he gets home and see if he won’t watch it with my mom and I when Season 3 starts.
Before you check out the spoiler, please read the following: I do not know how accurate this source is. Someone on tumblr sent this to me via submit, claiming to be an extra on the set of Glee. She also asked to remain nameless and that I post the spoiler myself so that she wouldn’t have to. (I imagine she doesn’t want to be the next Nicole Crowther, but who knows.) It’s not too spoilery, realistic enough and true to what other (and actually legitimate) sources have told me, so I’d like to believe that this is true but, then again, you can never be certain. I don’t know who this person is, let alone if they’re actually an extra on the set of Glee, so take the spoiler with a teeny tiny grain of salt and don’t get your hopes up too high. It’s just as likely to be fake as it is to be real. (Shrugs.)
I want this Klaine spoiler to be true like you do NOT know. It would be SUCH a fun side of Blaine to see, and something we really haven’t gotten from him before. And the fact that it’s with Kurt, his boyfriend, makes it that much better!!!
^^^ I HEARTILY agree with that. plus it’s going to be SO hilarious if it happens.
Also, I’m super excited for the Rory story arc in this season— it’s shaping up to be a wonderful kind of train wreck for the three characters involved.
